2 CELEBRATE ADVENT

Are you looking to celebrate Advent more fully this year? This morning OR evening retreat is just what you need! We will pray over St. John of the Cross’s Christmas poems which profoundly touch the soul. They can fill your spirit all during Advent and really make a difference in your celebration of Christmas. 3 PERSONAL RETREAT DAY

Take a day away from the busyness of your life to rest a while in the Lord. The day includes silence, personal prayer and optional spiritual direction. We begin and end with a brief prayer together. Donation: $10 or $40 with Spiritual Direction. Please bring a bag lunch.
4 LECTIO DIVINA

Here is another opportunity to come together to pray with Scripture. Lectio is the age old practice that allows the Word of God to take root in your heart and nourish your soul. You truly encounter God’s presence. Donation: $15
9 PREPARING SPIRITUALLY FOR CHRISTMAS

Give a morning to preparing your heart and soul to celebrate the Mystery of God’s coming into our world at Christmas and into your life every day. Donation: $15
9 CENTERING PRAYER EVENING
Tuesday, 7:30 – 8:30 PM
We meet one Tuesday a month for 20 minutes of Lectio Divina and 40 minutes of Centering Prayer. These evenings really help to keep your centering prayer practice alive. There is grace in the group. Love Offering.
10 ADVENT EVENING PRAYER

Using the Taizé prayer format, this hour of prayer will include singing, Scripture and silence. Join us for a serene end to your day. Presenter: Sandy Carmichael. Love Offering.

31 END OF THE YEAR RETREAT

Since God gives us life and time and is Lord over all, it seems appropriate to end the year in prayer. Francis House offers time, space and quiet for naming the graces of 2008 and expressing gratitude to God. The afternoon will focus on our goals, hopes and desires for 2009. Please bring a bag lunch.
