AN EVENING WITH FR. RICH LAVERGHETTA
BACK TO BAPTISM
MASS, DINNER AND PRESENTATION

     Sunday, November 3     4:30 – 8:00 PM

We will look at how the gifts we receive in Baptism can help us get through tough times (as individuals and as Church) while also being a source of life and hope for others. We will begin with Liturgy at
4:30 PM followed by dinner and Father Rich’s presentation.
Donation:  $30.

PERSONAL RETREAT DAY
     Wednesday, November 6     9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Take a day away from the busyness of your life to rest a while in the Lord and experience God’s presence. Come to Francis House for silence, personal prayer and optional spiritual direction.  The day begins and ends with a brief prayer together.  Come to as many as you can.  Donation: $10; $40 with spiritual direction.  Please bring a bag lunch.

Come for a visit, to explore this holy place and make it your home, and a new meeting place for God and you.  Just look around, visit our chapels, and see the beautiful grounds surrounding our new Francis House of Prayer!  All are welcome!

Love your way to wellness! Using a combination of God’s Word, spiritual practices, and the latest nutritional information you can improve your health and live with more energy, joy and purpose. A healthy lunch is included to get you started! Led by Colleen McNally, Integrative Health Coach. Donation: $25, includes lunch.

LIVING IN AN “ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE”
     Monday, November 18     9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

St. Paul tells the Ephesians to “give thanks for everything to God…” As we near the Thanksgiving holiday, we will look at how to sharpen our “attitude of gratitude” in everyday life and recognize what keeps us from living more fully in a heart filled with thanks. Led by: Sister Pat Mensing, SSJ. Donation:  $25, includes lunch.

WONDER & AWE: GOD’S GIFTS IN NATURE
     Wednesday, November 20     9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Let God’s love be revealed to you through the landscape surrounding Francis House. We will learn new ways to open our awareness to God’s revelations of love throughout creation. Also, we will read the inspiring words of Merton, Thoreau, Teilhard and Hildegard of Bingen to guide us into wonder and awe of God’s love experienced in nature. Led by Jill Snyder. Donation:  $25, includes materials and lunch.

DAWN – DAY – DUSK – DARK
MERTON’S BOOK OF HOURS

     Wednesday, November 20     6:30 – 8:00 PM

You will receive Merton’s A Book of Hours which gathers some of the most beautiful and insightful passages in his writings arranged as prayers to be offered at dawn, midday, dusk and night hours of each day. They are simple and elegant as is Merton at his best!  Our souls long to live in union with God. This little book gives us a way that is brief and quite manageable for the ordinary, busy person at work in the world. It will be a good opening for your Advent Season.

OVERNIGHT RETREAT FOR WOMEN
RE-IMAGINING LIFE, ADJUSTING TO CHANGE

     November 21-22     7 PM Thursday – 4 PM Friday

This retreat is for women over 50 who are adjusting to change in their lives. There are times in our life journey when we are visited with sudden or unwanted change. We will accept God’s invitation to re-imagine our lives and become aware of what brings hope and energy to this second half of life. God invites me to “Follow my bliss.” What am I passionate about now, and what is true for my authentic self? God is still creating me! Take some time for yourself and God before the holidays begin. Commuters welcome: 7:00 – 9:00 PM Thursday and 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Friday. Donation: $75. Breakfast and Lunch included for all.

DELIGHT IN GOD WITH ST. HILDEGARD
     Friday, November 22     9:30 – 2:30 PM

Connect with God through the inspirations of St. Hildegard of Bingen who came to know God deeply through Scripture, nature, music…just to name a few. This most recent woman Doctor of the Church offers us simple ways to be more aware of God’s generous love. Led by Jill Snyder. Donation:  $25, includes lunch.


MID-LIFE DIRECTIONS RETREAT
SPIRITUAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL GROWTH IN THE SECOND HALF OF LIFE

     November 22 – 24     7:00 PM Friday – 1:00 PM Sunday

     WHAT HAPPENS AT A MID-LIFE WORKSHOP?
Each person is led into a process of discovery of the self within that needs to emerge in the second half of life.

     WHAT IS A MID-LIFE RETREAT?
●A time to look at mid-life as a crisis, transition & renaissance.
●A time to ask anew the ultimate question: What is the purpose of my life?
●A time to unleash the dynamism of the second half of life.
●A time to allow my past, present & future to come together anticipating my coming integration.
●A time to learn to relax, how to contemplate.
●A time to reflect on my deepest beliefs as they illumine my life.
●A time to grow in faith, hope and love for my life as it has been, as it is, and as it will be.
Donation: $150/$50 non-refundable deposit.  Commuters welcome, all meals included.
