CHOOSING HOPE IN TROUBLED TIMES
Tuesday, September 15 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Hope is both a gift to ask for and a virtue to practice. St. Ignatius of Loyola offers us many tools for living peacefully within while trouble prevails around us. We will use his Rules for Discernment coupled with a daily discernment practice to help us choose and safeguard hope within us during these troubled times. Can you give a day for your own growth in peace and hope? Donation: $30, includes lunch and materials.
Tuesday, September 29 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
With the demands of everyday life, our many responsibilities and tendency to be overwhelmed by stress, we can find ourselves short on patience. If you would like to become a more patient person (or if others would like you to be 😊) please come and enjoy this morning retreat. Donation: $25, includes lunch.
RECOGNIZING GOD’S PRESENCE
REIMAGINING THE IGNATIAN EXAMEN
Tuesday, September 29 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Discernment is a key to interior freedom and intimacy with God. It is a grace to be asked for and an exercise to practice. This evening retreat will be a jump start to a prayerful path of daily discernment called Examen. We all long to recognize God’s Presence and action in our life. Our time together will help fulfill that desire. Donation: $15, includes materials.

DISCERNMENT & DECISION-MAKING
Wednesday, September 30 6:30 – 8:00 PM
This evening will focus on the difference between discerning God’s will and simply making decisions from our own point of view. Using the discernment process of St. Ignatius, we will become acquainted with seven steps that help us pray through important decisions to include God and discover God’s will for the furthering of God’s Kingdom, not our own. Do you have a big decision ahead of you? Donation: $15, includes materials.

AN INTRODUCTION TO IGNATIAN PRAYER
Wednesday, October 7 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Tune into what grabs your attention in the Scriptures! We will practice “listening with the ear of the heart” and placing ourselves in the scenes of the Gospels. God reveals in a very personal way to each of us when we pray these ways. It’s amazing and life changing! We will use Timothy Gallagher’s book, An Ignatian Introduction to Prayer, to guide us in our day together and for you to enjoy for weeks following this day. Donation: $35, includes lunch and book.
Sunday, October 11 9:30 AM – Noon
What is Centering Prayer? Is God calling me to this form of prayer? Do I have a desire for a quiet mind, a peaceful soul, union with God, and to simply be in God’s Presence loving the God who loves me? Can Centering Prayer really change me? Is the fact that I can’t be still or quiet my mind a problem? Come and see. Desire is everything, God’s desire! It is well worth the afternoon. Donation: $20.
THE WIDOW’S “MIGHT”
Tuesday, October 13 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

THE GRACE AND VIRTUE OF RESILIENCE

What is resilience and when have I noticed it within? Begin each day with resilience on your mind and heart! With the help of authors James and Evelyn Whitehead, we will take a long loving look at the grace and virtue of resilience, unpacking its psychological and spiritual aspects. What would your life be like if you really practiced resilience? What a virtue to consider! What a grace to ask for! Donation: $25, includes lunch and materials.
A RETREAT DAY WITH TEILHARD
Thursday, November 5 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Let the words of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin draw you into God's love in the evolving universe. Through his experiences as a scientist and Jesuit priest, Teilhard witnessed a universe on fire with God at the heart of it. Eucharist will mean even more to you after reflecting on Teilhard's words. Donation: $25, includes lunch and materials.
MINDFULNESS AND CONTEMPLATION
Tuesday, November 10 9:30 AM – Noon
There are similarities and differences between these two practices. Contemplation is essentially prayer. God and you are in a mutual exchange of love. Prayer always involves two persons, one is God. Mindfulness, on the other hand, is an awareness practice. Mindfulness helps you pay attention. Prayer is attentiveness and response to God and is an active engagement in your personal relationship. We will practice both during this retreat morning, so you experience the difference. Donation: $20.
THE PATH TO JOY
UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF SUFFERING
Tuesday, November 10 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
God does not send struggle and suffering into our lives, but God invites us into deeper union, faith and trust through it. We will explore Jesus’ example of how to lean into God through our suffering and to let go of all that blocks us from His love, mercy and peace. Excerpts from the writings of Teilhard, Richard Rohr and The Book of Joy will be used. Donation: $20, includes materials.
HELPS FOR HANDLING THE STRESS
Friday, November 13 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
What did Jesus mean when he said, “Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect?” What is the difference between perfection and perfection-ism? We will look at the God-given perfection that is within us and the perfection-ism that tortures us, (and others too). We will hear from the best as we come to realize that perfection is not what we do but the loving done through us. You will receive the perfect reading materials 😊. Donation: $25, includes lunch and materials.
DISCOVERING OUR ONENESS
Tuesday, November 17 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Contemplation is the gentle cure for the human condition. Contemplation helps us recognize that we are One. We are more One with each other than separate. This retreat day will focus on healing the wounds of division and befriending differences as we experience union with God in prayer. Thomas Keating’s teachings will guide us throughout the day as we grow in consciousness that God is all in all and we really are One. Donation: $25, includes lunch.

FINDING YOUR WAY TO THE LIGHT
Wednesday, December 2 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
As we conclude the calendar year 2020, we Christians celebrate Advent and a new liturgical year. Certainly, 2020 has been trying, full of fears and frustrations, change and challenge. What have we learned? What do we bring into the new Church year? What has quarantine, waiting and silence taught us? Let’s begin to find our way through the dark in order to prepare for the Light of the World. Let’s come together to focus on hope and on Life. Led by JoLynn Krempecki. Donation: $25, includes lunch.
WE ALL KNOW SCROOGE
Thursday, December 3 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM
The old familiar Christmas Carol is ever ancient, ever new! What does the story say to me now? We will view the film, share its message, and enjoy a fabulous lunch. What a great Advent morning as we prepare to be generous givers this season (unlike Scrooge). Led by Judy Principe and Sister Marcy. Donation: $20, lunch included.
Tuesday, December 8 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM

BE BORN IN ME
MAKE MY HEART YOUR BETHLEHEM
Friday, December 18 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
This retreat morning will allow you the time and space to celebrate Christmas spiritually, as most of us do not have that opportunity on the day itself. Spending this time with God makes a huge difference in the final days before Christmas, as you continue your preparation for the feast and will enhance your entire Christmas Season. “I’ll hold you in the beginning, you will hold me in the end. Every moment in the middle, make my heart your Bethlehem. Be Born in Me.” (Battistelli) Please come. Donation: $20, lunch included.
END OF THE YEAR RETREAT
Thursday, December 31 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Since God gives us life and time and is Lord over all, it seems appropriate to end the year in prayer. Francis House offers time, space and quiet for naming the graces of 2020 and expressing gratitude to God. The afternoon will focus on our goals, hopes and desires for 2021. Please bring a bag lunch. Love Offering.
